Letting Inspiration Find You and Not Let Go

Inspiration is that little friend who hypes you up over small things and cheers you on in the process. But, when you have beef with it seems to take everything it has and leave.

So many ideas have been formulating on what to write for my ‘first day back’ on the job.

“Should I make a huge announcement?”

“Do I make a video of me crying about my struggles and comparing myself to others?”

Comparing yourself to others is definitely an art form in a class of its own. Scrolling Instagram for inspiration quickly turned into the guilt of how I lacked in outfits or less money for high dollar brands to keep up. I uploaded a Youtube video two weeks ago (which is doing surprisingly well) to try to ease back into my blog and yet, got pushed back due to stress and anxiety. On the contrary, everything wasn’t all bad. Traveling to San Antonio with my family, gaining new video editing techniques, and creating a business that benefits all bloggers in the DFW area!  Sometimes stepping back and just living in the moment pushes that inspiration back to you when you least expect it.

I’ve been planning some crazy stuff for the rest of the year that I can’t wait for you to see!

  1. Love the shirt I always say don’t force creativity or content, you’ll probably hate it and your viewers will too. This was a great post

  2. I feel you! I have really struggled with comparison this past year, but I’ve learned to be greatfulfor where I am and just take it day by day. Loved this post and your hair is so fly girl!

  3. Please know you are not alone! I try to limit things I look at on Instagram. We all know social media has the power to play mind games with us. A lot of people only post the things that they WANT us to see or to portray them in a certain light. We are all going through different journeys and all face some sort of obstacles whether we advertise it or not. I appreciate your transparency in your post. Nothing is more inspiring to me than to see other admit to their struggles and show how they are dealing with or conquering them. That alone is inspiration for me!

  4. I wish there was a way that we could not compare and just be happy with what we have and who we are… some ppl fial to realise that we need to be content with what we have, aint nothing wrong with wanting better.. but we get so caught up in the future that we done enjoy the now.. btw.. loving the hair!!!!

  5. Loved this and appreciate it so much. I think it is so hard sometimes to push yourself creatively especially if you can’t find it but in the same token with a blog/youtube channel…you need content. Sometimes I have weeks where I’m pushing out several post within days but other weeks I’m like blah. I think your content is 10 x’s better when it isn’t forced and it comes to you naturally because it comes off more genuine. Keep it up, strong woman!
