As you all know, 2017 did not go the way I wanted too. So that means I have A LOT of making up to do. Traveling has always been one of my favorite things to do when I have the time. As much as I would like to share my lists of Travel Guides and ‘Tips for Traveling’, I simply must build it first. That’s why I’m starting with this. I stated earlier in the year that I wasn’t going to follow Resolutions, but travel-wise? Issa must.
Before I jet off to some pretty awesome places, here are some promises I made to make sure my next adventure is worthwhile.
Discover an Underrated Part of Your City:
It surely feels like I know Fort Worth from the inside out until someone asks me where’s a good place to have brunch. In 2017, I vowed to visit more cultural places like the museum and historic landmarks and ended up discovering an underlying love for Modern Art. 2018 is the year to ditch my laziness and go beyond my comfort zone. Visit events happening, see shows that are not as popular and go beyond the city limits and explore. Whether it’s going into a random restaurant,

Visiting a New Landmark in Your Own State:
I spend way more time on the Instagram explore page to see what adventures to go on next. I came across a page that gave similarity to The Grand Canyon and found out it was right here in Texas! Turns out that it is surrounded by a land full of unexacting surprises. Although it’s not as popular, it a great spot to check out your bucket list.
Take In the Moment:
This sounds pretty ‘Eat, Pray, Love’, but hear me out. With the chaos going on in our everyday lives, when will you spend another moment like this? The people you’re surrounded by, the smells that fills your nose, or the sounds of hustle and bustle in a completely different place? On the number of trips I’ve went on, I know NOT to make an itinerary of things to do at every waking minute. I just get up and…do it. Those are those unexpected moments that makes the trips memorable and exciting.
Take a Family Vacation:
I’m pretty experienced in this category! Almost every year has been the Annual Disney Family vacation (and yet, I’m still not tired of it!). I thoroughly enjoy my family especially when we travel together. It makes me super happy to see everyone in their happy place surrounded by people they love. Solo trips and friendcations has been taking over the travel scene as of late, so let’s switch up the trend a bit! Start planning now, cause Summer is just around the corner! Gather everyone together, write a list of destinations and have everyone vote on the trip!

Sacrifice Something and Save for an International Trip:
My sister has plans to go to Cabo in August. It will be my first time outside of the country and I’m definitely excited! I want this experience to be perfect and while I’m there, I definitely don’t want to run out of money or come up short on important expenses! Although I’m going to actually start saving money in 2018 (which I honestly SHOULD’VE been doing), I would actually like to make an extra jar for Cabo money! Have you been? What are some to do’s while there?
Disconnect my Phone the Whole Trip:
Believe me when I say this: My phone is literally my life. I can step away for a couple of hours and even resist the urge to check my feeds on social media. But to completely shut everything down? Impossible. Well, it’s pretty possible but I’d be too paranoid. What if something happens while I’m gone? What if I can’t go back home? WHAT’S HAPPENING ON INSTAGRAM RIGHT NOW?! It’ll take a while to do, but eventually I’ll just put everything God’s hands and enjoy my bliss. Instead of trying to take the perfect photo, I’ll be trying to jot down perfect moments.
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. (Mark Twain)
